EN: As I mentioned in the article entitled How to travel affordably: SHOPPING - part I (click here), every time I go to a new city I like buying at least one item of clothing from there. Actually, my tradition consists not just of buying something, but of finding the PRIMARK store! A lot of people have probably heard about PRIMARK, maybe some have never heard about it, but this is definitely my favourite store and I think half of my clothes are bought from there. But what is Primark actually and why do I like it so much? Primark is a chain store, which first launched in Dublin, Ireland, then steadily expanded to most European countries, and even opened a store in the USA, in Boston in 2015. This brand is based on the principle of fast fashion, a sort of fast food for clothes, as products are very cheap, costing only a few euros/pounds, so they allow clients to change their wardrobe as often as possible. Some articles are more expensive (I think the most expensive article I found cost around 40 euros, or roughly 180 lei), but every time I went to Primark there were discounts, so I bought many products ranging from 5 to 10 euros. Every store from this brand that I've been to was more crowded than I could ever imagine, with hundreds of people walking around, going up and down the stairs, from the women's clothing floor to the one with household items and then to the male clothing section. Usually it's not very hard to figure out where Primark is: if I'm walking on the street and I suddenly see more and more people struggling to carry bags with the store's logo on them, it means I'm close. I remember in London I took a ton of clothes to try on in the fitting room and I spent 20 minutes at the queue just so one of them could become available. Poor Alex had been lying down in a corner of the store, exasperated by the crowd and by so many women around him. When we got out of there, he suddenly became the happiest man on earth. Never mind, Alex, I went with you to the men's floor as well!

EN: The good thing about Primark is that it doesn't only sell clothes, but also accessories, shoes, bags, make-up products and household items. During the last few months I've been obsessed with interior design, and, since I stopped by the Primark in Berlin in October, I obviously had to buy some decorations. I had wanted some special lights for a long time, lights that I could hang around the scrapable map which I received as a gift from Alex for my birthday; a string of light bulbs incorporated into white roses instantly caught my attention. They were exactly what I was looking for, and they only cost 3 euros. I also bought a white bed sheet (I don't remember the price exactly, probably around 7 euros) and 3 decorative pillows - two red velvet ones and one with pink flamingos - each costing 3 euros. I decorated my entire bedroom for 19 euros!

EN: As for the clothes, I couldn't help but notice their country of origin, most of the articles being made here, in Romania, or not far from us in Moldova. I brought them back home, where they came from!

EN: Here are a few examples of articles that I bought from Primark:

1. Tricou 2 in 1: 3 EURO

1. 2 for 1 T-shirt: 3 euros

2. Fusta cu fermoar: 5 euro

2. Zipper skirt: 5 euros

3. Geanta mini : 3 euro

3. Mini bag: 3 euros

4. Rochie: 5 euro + geanta: 5 euro

4. Dress: 5 euros + bag: 5 euros

EN: I think this dress is one of my favourites. I like the fact that I can wear it both as part of a casual mix and as part of an elegant, feminine one.

For the first option I wore the dress with a red jacket and a pair of plain black thick-soled shoes - a comfortable everyday outfit.

EN: For a more elegant version of the dress I added a pair of red stilettos, a blouse tied around the shoulders and a mini bag, also from Primark (5 euros). I don't know if I'm obsessed with red, but I really think it goes well with this dress.
